Room Integrity Test

Room Integrity Testing calculates the leak-tightness of a room and predicts how long it takes for the interface between the extinguishing agent and air to descend to a given level.

What is a Door Fan Test / Room Integrity Test?

Gaseous suppression system is extremely important safety provision for protection people’s life and their properties in case of fire. However, they are occasionally undermined by a factor beyond our control; the integrity of the protected room, that is, its capacity to hold gas. Before the introduction of the Room Integrity Test, it was common practice to prove the ability of the room to contain gas by carrying out full discharge testing.  Environmental concerns surrounding the Halons led to the development of the Room Integrity Test. Unlike full discharge testing, Room Integrity Testing causes little disruption to the working day and staff may continue to work in the test area.

How does Door Fan Test / Room Integrity Test works?

The test equipment comprises of variable speed fans, expandable door panels, pressure gauges and a dedicated portable computer.

The fan unit is fitted into a doorway of the room being tested by means of the special expandable door panels designed to fit most door frame sizes.

The fan is used to increase the pressure in the room by an amount approximately equivalent to the column weight exerted by the extinguishing agent following a discharge.  This is then maintained whilst readings are taken from the pressure gauges.

Advantage of Door Fan Test / Room Integrity Test

  • Proven, practical alternative to full discharge testing

  • Conservative testing procedure provides fail-safe results

  • Little disruption to normal working practices

  • Fully repeatable service

  • Comply with local authority requirement.

  • All testing tools are fully calibrated by Accredited Laboratory and by equipment manufacturer to ensure provide high accuracy result.

  • Our certified tester will conduct the manufacturer's refreshment course in every 3 years to maintain highest capability with latest international requirements.
